PARIS AND... // (NON) VALENTINE'S DAY

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and all the stores are full of lovely gifts and furry hearts. It looks like the whole world is desperately looking for a nice present for his or her lover. Personally I think Valentine’s Day is a bit hypocritical ‘cause, I don’t need a special day when I ‘’must’’ show my love to my lover.
But in a way I could understand that people take this day as their chance to show their love. So, why not in Paris? It is the perfect setting for some romance…
‘’THE GENESIS OF BUTTERFLIES’’ BY VICTOR HUGO
‘’The dawn is smiling on the dew that covers
The tearful roses; lo, the little lovers
That kiss the buds, and all the flutterings
In jasmine bloom, and privet, of white wings,
That go and come, and fly, and peep and hide,’’
Victor Hugo was one of the most influent French romantic writers of the 19th century, this is a piece of his poem ‘’The genesis of butterflies’’. He also lived in Paris at Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris. Also a very romantic place to go to with your lover!
Below some romantic Paris' style-things for a ( non ) Valentine’s Day…

LOVE

I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, to post a blog about someone you loved your entire life who isn’t here anymore.
I actually don’t care…
He was my dear beloved grandfather and I want to honor him in every possible way.
He believed that love was everything. And if you don’t give or receive love, no matter whom or what you are, without love you are nowhere…
And I can not agree more.
I miss you,

My grandfather in his 40's

Daydreaming...

Once up on a time there was a girl called Sanne, she went to Paris for five days to enjoy the city, the fashion, the love…

Well, it feels like ages ago! And I really don’t like this feeling! I want to go back there so bad, that the only thing I can think of is ‘’when do I have time (and money) to go back to my lovely city’'.
Today I’m daydreaming about Paris, daydreaming about having breakfast at Jardin du Luxembourg, the most beautiful park in Paris. It’s located in the artistic and beautiful quarter of Paris, Saint Germain de pres. This park with its beautiful trees, flowers and statues gives you this rich Paris feeling. So buy some croissants, take a seat and watch. Watch the children, the runners, the sunbathing people, the students…
And if you sit there for one hour, you will experience my Paris…
