There it is... the last month in Paris, time flies! And I really don't want to go home!
Now I know that I have a few weeks left here I'm really focust on all the small things here in Paris. The songs they play on TV, the movies in the theaters, all things that will remind me to my wonderfull time here in Paris.
Gamze and I made a promise that we do as much as we can this last month and live life to the fullest!

Again a short movie of the last weeks!

Kisses!

This life in Paris is like a dream to me and I don't want to wake up.

WE SET OUR DREAMS TO CARRY US

What is it about dreams that we want to chase them? In your mind they look like heaven,  but what happens when your dream comes true? Does it become standard?

Well these are some questions I’ve asked myself back in Holland. My stay in Paris was my dream come true, I finally could be a real Parisienne. And now I think I can say that I am. Maybe some French people will laugh at me and tell me I’m far from a Parisienne but yeah, what the ***

So now I’m really used to live here, everything slowly becomes normal, but it is ABSOLUTELY not normal! So every day I keep saying to myself that I’m verrrry lucky to live here and experience so many cool things!

Set dreams to carry you and don’t let them become a standard thing…

Okay I’m going to the movies now! Soooo cool

(for some weird reason i can not put the video in here)

Big Kisses!

ANOTHER DAY IN PARISDISE

The last two weeks were lovely! We did a lot of fun things such as going to the movies on Champs Élysées, a big birthday party, dining at Brasserie Flo and I even got myself  in the giant wheel ( Grande Roue) at place de la Concorde for a fantastic view.
Again, every day is a blessing and that sounds sooo cliché but I’m really happy that I live here in Paris.

Another happy movie…

Big kisses,
Sanne

INTERNET AND THE CITY

Well, hello again. Took me about two weeks to create a new movie because the internet is not working. It maybe sound a bit exaggerated but I really felt kinda lost without internet. Every day when we got home we loved to hear the beeping sounds of our Iphone’s. But last two weeks it was very quiet when we got home…

It got me thinking about some other things, off course not to have contact with the ones I love from home makes me miss them a lot. And I realized I was really addicted to internet. I always want to be online and know what everyone is doing. So these two weeks I tried to get rid of my addiction. Because I had to. There was no other option but to deal with it. So I tried to focus on the other things.

Well, a BIG telephone-bill later I know that my addiction cannot be healed. So with every minute my Wifi is working I quickly check facebook, instagram, watsapp and my email.
So enough about my internet addiction. My other addiction I have developed in Paris is my addiction to Beautiful. Everything here is beautiful, the shops, the  architecture, the fashion, the art. I feel like all this beauty feeds me in some way.

So I tried to capture some beauty and put it in a movie…

LIFE IS FOR LIVING NOT LIVING UP TIGHT

It’s week two and I’m feeling really at home now…
We had an amazing week with our classmates. We saw some nice paintings and artwork from Dali at the Dali Museum in Montmartre. Of all the museums I’ve been these two weeks, I think this one got me the most.  I love how Dali makes these weird sculptures with a really great thought behind it.

On Thursday we had a blast at the party at club 67 near Champs Elyseés. We danced the night away with our classmates from Mexico, Germany and Spain. And we had a few Tequilla which explains the good conversations with the cabdriver haha!

This weekend was also great. My boyfriend visited me and we went to Saint-Germain de Prés for a lunch at Les Deux Magots. Then on Sunday we wanted to go to the Catacombe of Paris but when we arrived at the metro station we found ourselves standing right in the middle of the Gay marriage strike. And with like 50.000 people around us we couldn’t go to the Catacombe. So we went for a nice lunch and the amazing view on Tour Montparnasse.

FIRST WEEK IN PARIS

This week there was not a second my face had not a smile on it…

Last week my Also-Paris –Lover Gamze and I arrived at our little apartment in Paris. My dream started! Living in Paris is sooo cool! Every day I’m thanking myself for doing this haha ;)

Arriving at our apartment at Rue des Batignolles in the 17th arrondissement with 2 cars fully stuffed with clothes and shoes we did’t knew what to expect because we did’nt saw our apartment in real life you know.
Well, it's 100 percent better than expected and we feel really at home! After unpacking and a lot of cleaning, we sat at our sofa bed, totally exhausted but with a big smile on our face;  this is our home in Paris!

So this week we needed to go to school directly. We’ve met some very nice people from different nationalities such as Mexico, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. So this week we did a LOT!
Sunday after cleaning we went to the Arc de Triomphe, not that we needed to see it but hey, we’re in Paris right? So we went for a little walk to Avenue Montaigne and did a little windowshopping at Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Cloé… What else is there to do on a Sundaynight right?

Then we had some schooldays. Friday we had a great day, we have made ourselves an engagement to eat a nice pastry at the best patisseries of Paris every week. So thats what we did, at Fauchon we bought a 7 euro pastry and it was DIVINE! Next week at Ladureé ;)

At fridaynight we went to the Louvre, I went there before but this was also a kind of school assignment so why not go there again? This was my favorite night this week, cause when we were looking at the different paintings my eye catched some snowflakes…
It was so magical! I coulnd’t stop smiling and i was so happy! It was like -5 that night but this winterwonderland warmed me…

Ow and Saturday, we went to Museé d’ Orsay. Loved the Monet, van Gogh and Rodin pieces!

Wow, what a week… Paris je t’aime.

Below our film of the first week! Have fun wathing it :)

Kisses,
Sanne

HOTSPOTS // RUE BUCI

Every time when I’m in Paris I go to one of the cutest streets in Saint-Germain, Rue Buci. A lovely street with cozy bookstores, trendy cocktailbars and café’s and a very cute flowershop!

The cocktails at café Jade are trés delicieux! The bar has a funny interior, with the walls covered with the names of famous Parisians and other famous artists. While enjoying a cocktail, you’ll watch the latest fashion trends on fashion TV in beautiful Saint-Germain. So next year when I’m in Paris, here is where I spend my fridaynights!

Then, there is the Taschen bookstore at Rue Buci, we all know the big books from Taschen! You can spend here hours looking pictures in the lovely books.

Hungry? Try PAUL boulangerie. You can eat here very delicious hamburgers or fine crepes. Did you know that in Paris, eating a hamburger (not the one from McDonalds, I mean a real hamburger) is hot and happening? Weird huh?

Don't forget the lovely music by George Shearing!

MON PARIS // BACK TO THE 20's?

If you know the movie Midnight in Paris (if not, shame on you!) you probably know the scene where Gil Pender is picked up by a few sophisticated looking Parisians. I wanted to go to that place but I didn’t know where it was located. Until my lovely boyfriend found it at a special website for all the locations of the movie. So back in Paris at (almost) midnight we went to the pick up spot...

Unfortunately there was no old Renault driving by when we heard the church bells at midnight…

Don't miss the lovely music from Stephane Wrembel!

Do you also want to try to go back to the 20s? This place is located near the Pantheon at Rue de la Montaigne Sainte-Geneviève. Good luck!

MON PARIS // QUAI VOLTAIRE FURNITURE SHOPS

QUAI VOLTAIRE:

Way too expensive furniture but oh so lovely! Walking along the left bank of the Seine this ‘’piece of happiness’’ really did catch my eye. What do you think of it? Art or Kitsch?
Have a nice evening!

CITÉ DE LA MODE // SHOP WITH NO NAME

Last week I was strolling through the streets of Montmartre, heading to vintage shop Chezel. I was pretty tired because I had been to Versailles and the rest of the day I had been walking around in Saint-Germain. But the store Chezel would close at 6 o'clock and I  had to take a look! The shop is located in a nice street with several small shops. Next to Chezel there is another vintage store with nice items. I asked the saleswoman how the store was called but the store was still so new that it had no name yet. How funny! Cause it is a lovely shop already!

So when you want to go to Chezel you also must take a look at ‘’The shop with no name’’

Below some pictures of the shop...

It's located on:

Rue Condorcet 59 (also the location of Chezel)

VILLE-LUMIÈRE // VERSAILLES DETAILS

Versailles is one of the biggest and most beautiful estates of the world. You can walk around there for days and still not have enough of all the beauty of this palace. Last week I went there again ‘cause somehow I really needed to see its beauty again.
It is such a big palace that you actually want to rush through every room to see the whole palace in a few hours. Not a good plan I would say because you will miss all the details Versailles has to offer you.
So take your time and spot the handcrafted details in the palace... (it might take you a few days ;))

P.S. Did you know you can visit Versailles for free if you are an European resident under 26?

MON PARIS // WHERE DO WE GO?

I have had enough with this cold grey weather, and I hope when I'm in Paris next week the weather will be on my side. I can't wait to go and today I made a list where I want to go next week. Paris is such a big city; there are always new places to explore…

Where do we go?

-          Saint-Ouen market, this is a very large flea market with lots of furniture and home- accessories

-          The pick-up-place from the movie Midnight in Paris, I now know where it is! yeay! It's near the Pantheon. So I owe you a picture of this place.

-          Café des Deux Moulins, this is the café from the movie Amelie.

-          Pont des Arts, this is the bridge of love where you can hang a lock on the fence of the bridge.

-          Versailles, I've been here before but I think it is such a historical and fascinating place that I want to go back there.

-          Chezel Vintage shop, I believe this is not a cheap vintage shop, so I need some money for this one (or my boyfriend). They sell Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Celine and more... ME LIKE

I’m so excited!

PARIS AND... // (NON) VALENTINE'S DAY

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and all the stores are full of lovely gifts and furry hearts. It looks like the whole world is desperately looking for a nice present for his or her lover. Personally I think Valentine’s Day is a bit hypocritical ‘cause, I don’t need a special day when I ‘’must’’ show my love to my lover.
But in a way I could understand that people take this day as their chance to show their love. So, why not in Paris? It is the perfect setting for some romance…
‘’THE GENESIS OF BUTTERFLIES’’ BY VICTOR HUGO
‘’The dawn is smiling on the dew that covers
The tearful roses; lo, the little lovers
That kiss the buds, and all the flutterings
In jasmine bloom, and privet, of white wings,
That go and come, and fly, and peep and hide,’’
Victor Hugo was one of the most influent French romantic writers of the 19th century, this is a piece of his poem ‘’The genesis of butterflies’’. He also lived in Paris at Place des Vosges, the oldest square in Paris. Also a very romantic place to go to with your lover!
Below some romantic Paris' style-things for a ( non ) Valentine’s Day…

PARIS AND... // STUDY!

It’s been a while since I posted my last writing, so I’m very sorry, but I’m back! With some great news!

The last few weeks, I‘ve been busy with getting a study place in Paris for next year. At first my school did approve, then again they didn’t… so I got very confused but last week I got an email from our manager that we still have a chance to study in Paris. If you know me, you would also know that this is my ultimate dream. It’s also a next step to become a Parisienne.

Within a few weeks I have a selection interview with school, so I’m praying that I will be the lucky one! I’ll keep you informed!

Below, some nice Paris things to get in the Paris ‘mood…

LET’S HAVE SOME BREAKFAST BABY

Today, when I went to school, I sat in the subway dreaming away with my thoughts. When suddenly, I heard this accordion music. I realized it was a song about Paris, called ‘’Sous le ciel de Paris’’. I was listening to the music when it dawned on me that within two months I’m going to Paris again! YEAY!

Me LIKE!

There is so much I want to do and see, but first I ‘m going to have a nice Yummy breakfast at Le Vrai Paris at Rue Abbesses! My boyfriend and I went there almost every day. The people were so kind and funny and the breakfast was delicious!

So if you’re going to Paris soon, Le Vrai Paris is a must-go!

Big kisses,

Sanne…
